Regulations of the 11th Warsaw Open Shogi Championship

The organizer of the tournament is the Polski Związek Shogi in cooperation with Terminal Kultury Gocław and Krystian Kuźmicz.

The tournament will take place on March 14, 2026, in Warszawa, at Terminal Kultury Gocław located on J. Nowaka-Jeziorańskiego Street in Warszawa.

The tournament will start at 10:00 a.m. and will be played under the Swiss system over 5 rounds.

Computer pairing system will be used.

In the event of a draw according to the general rules, the game will be replayed with the remaining thinking time preserved plus an additional 5 minutes.

Final standings will be determined by the number of points scored, with the following tie-break criteria: Buchholz (average), Buchholz (full), head-to-head result, and progressive score.

Time control: 20 minutes + 40 seconds byo-yomi per player.

Entry fee: 40 PLN; members of PZShogi – 20 PLN.

Equipment will be provided by the organizer.

Prizes:

Trophy for 1st place

The organizer provides material prizes for every participant.

The tournament will be submitted for FESA rating evaluation.
