11th Polish Shogi Championships and Open Polish Shogi Championships
The tournament is organized by the Polish Shogi Association in cooperation with
TKKF Drogowiec Krakow in 16-17.09.2023


1. The tournament is played in a combined system:
- Polish Championships (MP) - 3rd round knockout system (8 Polish players with the
highest FESA ranking according to the list of 01/09/2022, not less than 1000 points;
- Polish Open Championships (OMP) - 7 rounds with the Swiss system (all Polish
competitors and foreigners).
Games played and points scored in MP are considered to be OMP.
2. The tournament will be held on September 16-17, 2023 in Krakow, at the seat of
Senior Club, Sienkiewicz Street 2a.
3. Schedule
- 16/09/2023 - MP and 4 rounds of OMP from 12.00
- 17/09/2022 – continuing of the OMP from 10.00 a.m., ending approx. 15.00
4. In the event of a tie under the general rules, the game is repeated with +5 minutes
remaining (without byoyomi).
5. The title of Polish Champion is won by the winner of the final game, and the loser
in the final is awarded the title of Polish Vice-Champion; the losers in the semi-finals
play the game for third place.
6. The order of the OMP places is determined according to the number of points
scored with the auxiliary classification:
1 / medium Bucholz
2 / full Bucholz
3 / direct result
4 / progression
7. The pace of the game 30 mins + 40 sec. byo-yomi for each player. Sente is
determined by furigoma.

9. Closing the list of MP participants on 11 September 2022.
Closing of the list of OMP participants on September 10, 2022 at 11.30.
10. The entry fee is: PZShogi members PLN 30, others PLN 50
11. Awards:
- MP - for places 1 - 3
- OMP - for places 1 - 3
- for the best junior

- other material prizes and gifts
12. The tournament will be submitted for FESA ranking.
13. Entering the tournament means accepting the terms of the regulations and
consenting by the applicant to the recording of his image and the processing of
personal data by the organizers for information and marketing purposes.
The organizer reserves the right to use, free of charge, audiovisual materials
produced during the Tournament, in particular photos, film materials, interviews and
audio recordings of the participants for information and promotional purposes.
14. During the competition, the current sanitary requirements are in force, in
accordance with the rules established by state authorities.
