Welcome to the website of the Polish Shogi Association

Established in 2012 and registered on May 7, 2013, the Polish Shogi Association is an organization dedicated to promoting shogi and Japanese culture. The founding members aim to unite all shogi players, popularize shogi and teach the game, organize or co-organize tournaments, and cooperate, both domestically and internationally, with all individuals and organizations related to shogi.

The first important step was to obtain affiliation with the Japan Shogi Association, and on November 1, 2013, the Polish Shogi Association officially became a foreign branch of the Japanese association.

Obtaining legal personality and streamlining organizational matters allows us to start accepting new members, and the association's website, hopefully, will become a popular and frequently visited source of information about the Association and the shogi community in Poland.

We also plan to regularly post information on the website about foreign tournaments, especially if Polish players participate in them, as well as about professional tournaments organized by the Japan Shogi Association.

Of course, preparing interesting materials and maintaining the Association's website requires the cooperation of many people, and therefore we invite all shogi enthusiasts to cooperate. We are waiting for articles, announcements, information, games, and analyses that we will post on the website.

We hope that the Association's activities will contribute to the development and popularization of shogi, that shogi centers will be established in various cities, that Polish players will achieve sporting success, but above all, that a friendly community of people sharing the same passion - the love of Japanese chess and Japanese culture - will be created.

We also want to establish international contacts and actively participate in the life of the European Shogi Association, as well as take advantage of all available contacts with institutions and individuals from Japan, because that is the source of our passion.

In conclusion, we would like to emphasize that we will welcome any individual and collective actions consistent with the Association's goals and declare all possible assistance in joining forces to popularize shogi.
