Regulations
VII Polish Shogi Championship and Polish Open Championships in Shogi in Wrocław


The tournament is organized by the Polish Shogi Association, the NAMI Foundation and the MO TKKF Drogowiec Krakow.

1. The tournament includes:
7th Polish Championship (PC) - a 4-round single-elimination tournament (sixteen Polish players with the highest ranking)
7th Polish Open Championships (POC) - 7-round Swiss (other Polish players and foreigners).
Players eliminated from PC go to the POC and their results are transfered from PC.
2. The tournament will be held on 28 – 29th of April, 2018, in Wroclaw, Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego street 25, Politechnika Wrocławska, Building C-13,
- 28th of April - PC and rounds 1 - 4 of POC from 11.00 a.m.
- 29th of April - rounds 5 – 7 rounds of POC from 10.00 a.m, ending at approx. 15.00
3. The tournament is played using a combined system (Single-elimination - PC and Swiss – OPC)
4. In the case of a draw according to the general principles the game is repeated with the remaining time to think and added five minutes.
5. The winner of the final game in PC becomes the Champion of Poland, the runner-up gets title of vice-champion of Poland, players defeated in the semi-finals play for the third place.
6. The results of POC is determined first by number of wins, and in case of a tie using the points with the classification:
1 / median Bucholz
2 / full Bucholz
3 / direct result
4 / progres
7. Time: 30 min + 40 sec. byo-yomi for each player.
8. Applications for the tournament must be made:
- for PC until 25 Apr.,

- for POC as above and before the tournament - the list of participants will be closed at the venue on 10.45 a.m.
9. The entrance fee is 25 zł.
10. The equipment provided by the organizer.
11. Starting list is determined by the ranking of FESA.
12. Awards:
PC – cups for places 1 - 3
POC - cups for places 1 - 3
other prizes and gifts
13. The person designated by the organizer interprets the rules, makes announcements before the start of the first round of the detailed rules (if the rules differ from the generally accepted ones), watches over the course of the tournament, performs matching and settles disputes.
14. The tournament will be submitted to the FESA rating list.
